"I am entering my third season as the head coach of LG. This is the most stable year in my tenure," Yeom said before the opening of the regular season. "I had virtually no first starting pitcher until last year (due to poor performance of foreign ace pitchers). This season, I will start the season with two pitchers (Yoni Chirinos and Elijah Hernandez), who are close to starting pitcher. Coach Yeom Kyung-yeop also made efforts to strengthen the bullpen and secure backup fielders during the offseason.
